momo hört zu e.V. is a non-profit registered association (e.V.) committed to a culture of listening and appreciation. Its aim is to connect with people on equal footing through various listening spaces, to listen to others without judgement or agenda, and to genuinely want to understand them. Every relationship begins with listening. This offer is aimed at everyone – everyone is warmly welcome.

Through non-judgemental listening, the association seeks to help strengthen relationships in the family, social and professional environment. As a connecting element, listening strengthens empathy, trust, social participation and awareness of the other person. Democratic processes based on freedom, equal worth and mutual respect can grow as a result.

ZUHÖRRAUMSince 20 October 2023, our ZUHÖRRAUM has stood at Stephansplatz 2, beside the church of St. Stephan in Munich. Open to everyone, free of charge and low-threshold. Confidential and anonymous. We don’t give advice. We don’t judge. We listen.two mo AppThe MOMO training has since been discontinued. Around 400 people took part in total. Those experiences now feed into the development of the two mo App. With two mo, a digital infrastructure for daily momologs is taking shape: two people, 14 minutes, listening without agenda or judgement and sharing honestly. Release planned for the end of 2026. The aim: spaces for connection, trust and a democratic culture of conversation.ResearchTogether with researchers at the University of Witten/Herdecke and other academic partners. The focus: how listening without agenda affects wellbeing, connectedness, trust, health and social cohesion.

momo hört zu e.V. and ZUHÖRRAUM UG (haftungsbeschränkt) form a hybrid structure that combines non-profit impact with commercial scaling.

momo hört zu e.V. is the non-profit entity (donations, grants, civil-society partnerships). ZUHÖRRAUM UG develops and markets commercial products, in particular the two mo App.

momo hört zu e.V. holds a 20% stake in ZUHÖRRAUM UG – so that part of the commercial success remains permanently tied back to the non-profit work. The remaining shares are held by private shareholders.

This model makes it possible to secure social impact not only through donations and grants, but through a financially sustainable product model over the long term.

momo hört zu e.V. is recognised as a non-profit association and benefits from the statutory tax concessions. Donations to the association can be claimed for tax purposes.

Beyond this, the association’s work is carried by around 60 active volunteers.

momo hört zu e.V. finances its work through donations, grants, membership fees and project-based partnerships. The funds are used to operate the ZUHÖRRAUM, to coordinate volunteers, and for communication, research, administration and the further development of digital offerings.

Funding partners in the past: Deutsche Postcode Lotterie and other public and private funders.

The financial data are published after the end of each financial year:

– Donations
– Reserves
– Larger contributions above a defined transparency threshold

The majority of our funds come from donations, grants, membership fees and project-based partnerships.

The funds go into ZUHÖRRAUM operations, volunteer coordination, communication, research, administration and digital offerings.

There is no person whose annual contributions account for more than 10% of the total annual budget.
